1. Who We Are

Climate Actors Zambia ("we", "us") is operated under the Zambian Governance Foundation, Zambia. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information when you use climateactorszambia.earth (the "Platform").

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Email address and full name when you register.
• Organisation profile data: Organisation name, description, mission statement, region, district, focus areas, contact details, website, and logo — provided by you when setting up a profile.
• Activity data: Offers and needs you post on the Matching Board, and any matches or connections you act on.
• Usage data: Pages visited, browser type, and approximate location for platform analytics. No individual-level tracking cookies are used.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To operate and maintain your account and organisation profile.
• To power the Matching Board and surface relevant resource-and-need connections between organisations.
• To generate AI-assisted insights (smart match suggestions, profile coaching) using aggregated platform data — not to identify individuals.
• To send transactional emails (email confirmation, password reset).
• To improve the Platform based on aggregated usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Organisation Profiles Are Public

Organisation profiles — including name, description, focus areas, region, district, contact email, contact phone, and website — are publicly visible to all visitors of the Platform, logged in or not. Only publish information you are comfortable sharing publicly on behalf of your organisation.

5. Data Storage & Security

User data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure in the EU. Access to the database is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies — users can only read and write data that belongs to them. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

No system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your LCAP account.

6. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Vercel — platform hosting and deployment.
• Google Gemini API — AI-powered insight generation (data sent is anonymised and aggregated; no personal profiles are submitted to the AI).

7. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Access or update your organisation profile from your dashboard.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below.
• Request a copy of data we hold about you.
